A different take than the original seal. I was inspired by the type design used regularly by the city.

The Extraordinarium was a small gag giftshop located in the Logan Square neighborhood of Chicago. This logo captures the shop's silly and whimsical nature by featuring the shop owner in the shape of an "E", for "Extraordinarium" naturally. Since this was a small business, it was important to add the business's name to ensure anyone would know what it was at a glance.

Harmony House for Cats is a no-kill cat shelter located in Chicago. I wanted to give the logo a clean, new look, without making it look too sanitized and corporate. This logo emphasizes the relationship between human and cat by illustrating a friendly
cat wrapped snuggly in two arms. This isn't a large chain business, so I thought it important to include the name of the organization in the logo.
